MOVIE:  The Replacements

NUTSHELL:  Sweet, cutie pie football movie that is really still quite bad.

GOOD THINGS:  Keanu Reeves (ooh la la!), Brooke Langton (va va voom!), Gene Hackman (um, wheee!)

BAD THINGS:  7,865th movie with “Rock and Roll Part 2” and 3,454th with “Everybody Dance Now”, also features BTO’s “Taking Care of Business.” (I’m not making this up, by the way).

FEATURES:  Orlando Jones, Jon Favreau, Jack Warden and his teeth, Cheerleader spankings, Rhys Ifans

UNCOMFORTABLE MOMENTS:  The makeout scene with play by play soundtrack. What the hell was that?

NOTABLE:  The story and characters are so sweet that there’s even a heartthrob deaf player and a reformed convict player. Isn’t that cute?

BEST PART:  Cheerleader tryouts, actually all the cheerleader parts.

BEST LINE:   You look like a swordfish I caught once.” “Pain heals, chicks dig scars, glory lasts forever.

CROWNS:  3 out of 5
