My Big Fat Greek Wedding

MOVIE:  My Big Fat Greek Wedding

NUTSHELL:  Hilarious and charming comedy about a homely Greek girl who gets fabulous and then gets engaged to <gasp!> a white guy.

GOOD THINGS:  Great cast, great script and original as hell. Plus making fun of out of control weddings – what could be funner?

BAD THINGS:  Joey Fatone and John Corbett’s haircut. WTF?

FEATURES:  Nia Vardalos, Andrea Martin, Lainie Kazan, the bridesmaid dress that ate the Catskills, Windex, Fiona Reid and Bruce Gray as the Millers, Gia Carides and her boobs, Louis Mandylor, Marita Zouravlioff, Christina Eleusiniotis, Michael Constantine

UNCOMFORTABLE MOMENTS:  Andrea Martin was perhaps a little too Greek for me, which is odd since she’s actually Canadian.

NOTABLE:  Reminds me so much of the Greek folks I know but the theme of having an insane family is universal.

BEST PART:  The WASPs meeting the ethnic folks.

BEST LINE:  …because we weren’t weird enough.

CROWNS:  5 out of 5
