MOVIE:  The Ringer

NUTSHELL:  An asshole pretends to be developmentally disabled in order to fix the Special Olympics so he can get his gardener’s fingers sewn back on.

GOOD THINGS:  Jed Rees, the keyboardist from the Chris Isaak show is in this and steals it. Thank goodness.

BAD THINGS:  I have 5% understanding of the Johnny Knoxville thing. Maybe less. Brian Cox is starting to make me really nervous regardless of what character he’s playing.

FEATURES:  Katherine Heigl, self-help tapes, ribs

UNCOMFORTABLE MOMENTS:  I am speaking for my entire audience when I say that we were very very uncomfortable and will never recover from this movie ever.

NOTABLE:  I thought this was a Farrelly brothers movie which it only tangentially is. I won’t be making that mistake again anytime soon. LEMMETELLYA.

BEST PART:  Jed Rees is the only thing that tethered me to the planet while watching this movie..

BEST LINE:  I can’t remember. I was too freaked out. Also, the audience was milling in and out of the theater like it was a cocktail party and I couldn’t concentrate.

CROWNS:  2 out of 5
