The Departed

MOVIE:  The Departed

NUTSHELL:  Moles in the Irish Mafia and the group investigating them wreaks havoc in Boston.

GOOD THINGS:  LeoLeoLeo, Jack Nicholson, Anthony Anderson, Alec Baldwin, script and general kickassedness of entire film

BAD THINGS:  Chase Edmunds, obtrusive blow sequence, Costello’s disturbing wardrobe choices

FEATURES:  Matt Damon, Vera Farmiga, Martin Sheen, conflicted shrinks, Wolverine comics

UNCOMFORTABLE MOMENTS:  Brutal deleting, woman yelling out in theater when someone got whacked, overuse of Rolling Stones songs

NOTABLE:  I’m so glad I could see Leo kicking a bunch of ass in this since I might not be able to watch the movie where he has a South African accent.

BEST PART:  Mark Wahlberg. I know it’s crazy but I loved him in this – booties, weird haircut and all.

BEST LINE:  Heavy lies the crown… sort of thing.

CROWNS:  5 out of 5
