MOVIE:  Beat

NUTSHELL:  After her gun enthusiast husband is busted for heroin, Joan Burroughs flees with him to Mexico to live in a slum and reject the advances of his cute and recently paroled journalist friend. Then her husband shoots her and writes a book called “Junkie.”

GOOD THINGS:  Pardon?

BAD THINGS:  And Keifer Sutherland as William S. Burroughs

FEATURES:  No Owen Wilson, thank God.

UNCOMFORTABLE MOMENTS:  99% of the time Kiefer Sutherland is on screen, especially if he’s got the hat on.

NOTABLE:  Makes Beatniks look about as exciting as hummus.

BEST PART:  Courtney Love gets shot in the head.

BEST LINE:  Drive carelessly. You know. Drive without a care.

CROWNS:  1 out of 5
